A. The National Taiwan Normal University Library (hereinafter referred to as the "Library") established these Principles to support the teaching, research, and learning needs of various departments and subjects of the University, to improve teachers' and students' understanding of various resources and services, and to enable them to fully and effectively utilize such, so as to enhance their information literacy and research capabilities.

B. Subject librarians belong to the Library's Reference and Outreach Services, Gongguan Branch Library, and Linkou Branch Library, and are responsible for the departments and subjects of their respective campuses. The list of subject librarians and their contact information are announced on the "My Subject Librarian" page of the Library's website.

C. The service recipients include the University's current faculty members, staff, and students.

D. Subject librarian services include the following:

  • II. Guide to the Library: Introduce the environment and resources on each floor of the Library to students in each class.
  • III. Building of a webpage on subject resources: Organize electronic resources related to the department's subject.
  • IV. Promotion of collection resources and services: Send information about the Library's new resources, services, and promotional activities.

E. If inquiries from the University's teachers and students need to be resolved by relevant units of the Library, the subject librarians may refer them to the handling officer, who will respond to their inquiries.

F. If a subject librarian has a schedule conflict or a matter is not within the scope of service, the subject librarian may negotiate with the applicant to adjust service hours or service content. If the time cannot be changed, the subject librarian may request another subject librarian to act on their behalf.

G. Explanation service hours are 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00 Mondays through Fridays, in principle. For individual applicants, explanations will be held when there are 5 people or more.
